Under The Weather
I got sick.
I've been having the sniffles, the coughs, and other unmentionable things.
My standbys: tissue, a glass of water, and medicine
I also had to give up my breakfast cereal in normal milk because it's been making me even sicker. I had no idea I was mildly lactose-intolerant. I
was allergic to cow's milk as a kid, but I thought I'd gotten over that.
Sigh.
Moving on from my inconsequential troubles, I'm not the only one who's gotten under the weather. Look what a typhoon did to this ship for starters. (You can read more about this
here.)
Uh-huh, that's a capsized ship.
(Screenshot off news coverage in TV Patrol, a local news show.)
Loads of people are still missing; some people have lost their whole families on that ship. The unsuccessful rescue attempts and legal battles ensuing between the shipping company and the rest of the world are also depressing to read about.
I've actually ridden this particular vessel quite a few times with friends, so it's freaky to see it like that. I'm just so glad that no one I know was on the ship.
Though a good friend of mine did end up on another local ferry that collided with an oil tanker last week. Thankfully, she's fine though a bit shaken.
This all definitely doesn't put Philippine domestic transport in a good light. Hope things get better quickly.
I will post more when I feel a bit better. Take care, everyone!

So I'm Daisy (or fedora_girl)
I'm (naturally) wearing the fedora.
I'm a Chemical Engineering student --- getting that degree sometimes involves putting my brain through a strainer --- who also enjoys living life and eating like every meal is my last meal.
I'm a child of God, and that gives my life meaning.
I adore my family and friends. We spend a lot of time together, so they occasionally come up in my posts.
I also take pictures, do computer work, and scribble. I use Adobe Photoshop for long periods of time, and design blogs. I submit most of my good photos and drawings in
my DeviantArt account, and my blog designs in
my Blogskins account.
I read a lot. My favorite books of all time are the Holy Bible,
Pride & Prejudice,
The Scarlet Pimpernel,
The Boy Who Could Fly,
The Nanny, &
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.
I don't like watching TV because I feel it gives me wrong ideas about the real world. I'm partial to period dramas, musicals and other good movies though. A few that I like are
Pride & Prejudice (2005 version),
North & South (a BBC TV drama),
Facing The Giants,
Sixteen Candles, &
Singin' In The Rain.
I love music; I like a lot of genres. I'm getting into country music and some good rock at the moment. I also adore movie soundtracks and songs that are more than 60 years old.
And about this blog...
It's pretty much a personal thing. It's filled to the brim with my escapades, thoughts, stuff I make, and just plain observations. Random, really.
Hope you enjoy it!
